Missy, Knees forward, 38" x 50" aqueous crayon on paper

This drawing failed to come together properly but it was a bit of a breakthrough for me in that it felt good to draw in aqueous crayon again. It has a few good points going for it. The gesture is fairly good and I like how the figure integrates with the frame edge in the background. I will continue to draw like this for a while to see if  I can juggle all the variables better.

After many many drawings, I have come to the conclusion that it is not possible to think your way to a fresh and lively drawing. The only way to arrive at that destination is to turn off the critical, thinking, talking part of the brain and embrace the process silently with no separation from the process.
